We returned here because last time the food and the service was OK, nothing special but satisfactory. How its gone down! Twenty minutes we've been sat here with no effort whatsoever to clear the last customers pots and rubbish off the table. It's not as if they dont know it's here as all the five staff have looked over and seen it, yet no action. Must be difficult to walk the 12 foot to our table. Incredible they have just brought our order over still without clearing the table (leaving us to clear the table ourselves), half the order is missing and the two coffees and Luxery Hot Chocolate drinks are anything but hot. I've asked for the manager who has offered to sort the order out but we would have to wait 45 minutes for my wife's meal so either I eat mine and, she eats alone or I wait and eat mine cold. I asked and was given my money back and we left which can only be described as fair considering the extremely poor service.
Sit down cafe inside an on site bakery with tasty products. Jam tarts were delicious as were the door wedge sized flapjacks.
An extremely nice lunch of potato and meat pie with mushy peas followed by a large size egg custard tart and washed down with a cup of tea. A small helping of mash wouldn't have gone amiss. Pleasant staff. Can't wait to try a Cornish pasty next time.
A fair bakery, unfortunately the quality of the products they don't bake them selves are pretty poor. The breakfast we had was of a low quality. Soapy sausages etc. Was difficult to alter ingredients to suit dietary needs.
Nice enough products without being anything special, other than noticeably more expensive than Greggs a few doors away. Alas Greggs had already sold out of pies/ pasties which may tell its own story. Slightly down at heel seating area which persuaded us to take our pasties to eat elsewhere. A remarkable 25p charge is levied for heating up goods purchased. That would be cheeky even if the goods were being kept hot in an oven or heated cabinet: since the crisp pasties are microwaved to heat them, leaving the pastry soggy, it's simply outrageous. Not recommended.
